A space for makers! What is a maker? Someone who makes! You’ve probably heard the term before: hackerspace, fablab, techshop, etc. A makerspace is a space for a community to come together and make: it can be coding, hardware hacking, cosplay, woodworking, 3D printing, even building with LEGO.
A makerspace’s most valuable resource is its members: people driven by a passion to create. TheLab.ms is no different; people are asked when they visit: What’s your passion? If you’re not sure, TheLab.ms gives people a chance to explore and collaborate with others. You can be a college student who likes to knit, or a stay-at-home mom who enjoys soldering, or a chef who wants to learn about Arduino programming. There’s a place and a passion for everyone who wants to learn and share.
TheLab.ms was formed to provide a place and the infrastructure for creative people to collaborate, share ideas, and pursue creative interests. We are an all volunteer, non-profit organization. We are a community resource currently hosting classes and meetups for the public around a wide variety of topics including: robotics, programming, beer brewing, wireless communications, and information security.
